The Gilles defoliator TR14-117 continues to prove its solidity day after day.The design of the chassis and of the flailed rotor provoke the required air flow to suck up and strip the leafs. The positioning of the flails onto the electronically balanced rotor assures a precise leafshredding. The powerful rotor (970 r/min) and leaf hopper ensure a leaf throughput capacity second to none. Simultaneously, the particular design and choice of superior quality materials allow to reduce the operational costs to a bare minimum.

Due to the fact that the scalper knifes are mounted on a parallelogram, the cutting height of the sugar beet topsis automatically adjusted the height of each individual beet . Moreover, the cutting height of the 6 scalpers can be regulated simultaneously at 1 single centralized point (in option hydraulically from the cab). Also notice that the attachment of the scalpers and scalper knifes (L-shape) has been reinforced. The parallelogram has been further optimized in 2007.

The final stage of the defoliating process consists of the leaf spreading. The TR14-117 ensures a uniform spreading of the shredded leafs and hence provides a high quality organic fertilizer. The shredded leafs can also be laid down in rows.

The defoliator is being supported by two front wheels whose height are manually adjustable (hydraulically in option). This adds to the stability of the defoliator and ensures that de defoliating height can be adjusted to the specific conditions in the field concerned.
